Draft — requires legal review
This page is a starting-point draft, not finished legal advice. It must be reviewed by a qualified legal professional familiar with UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and consumer/education law before this platform is used with real students or schools.
For students
- Use the platform to learn, practise and prepare for assessment — not to obtain answers to submit as your own coursework, NEA or exam work.
- Do not attempt to access another student's account, progress data, or work.
- Do not attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with the Coding Lab's sandboxing or any other security control.
- Be respectful in any area where you can enter free text (e.g. project workspace, AI tutor conversations).
For teachers
- Only invite students you are actually responsible for teaching.
- Keep student data you can access confidential and use it only for legitimate teaching purposes.
- Report any suspected misuse or safeguarding concern promptly (see our Safeguarding Statement).
Prohibited activity
- Attempting to gain unauthorised access to any account, system, or data.
- Uploading malicious code, or attempting to use the Coding Lab to attack the platform or third parties.
- Scraping or bulk-downloading platform content for redistribution.
- Using AI features to generate work intended to be submitted as a student's own assessed coursework (see our AI Use Policy).
Enforcement
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this policy, and will cooperate with schools' own disciplinary and safeguarding processes where relevant.
