Safeguarding Statement

Draft — requires legal review
Our commitment
Many IT SkillForge users are under 18. We take the safety and wellbeing of student users seriously and design the platform with age-appropriate defaults.
What this means in practice
- Student accounts do not expose personal contact details to other students by default.
- Teacher oversight: teachers can see progress and activity for students who join their class, supporting a supportive, monitored learning environment rather than an unsupervised open platform.
- AI features are designed around learning support, not open-ended unmoderated chat (see our AI Use Policy).
- Student portfolios default to private, with explicit choices required to make any work teacher-visible or public (see in-product privacy controls).
Reporting a concern
If you are a student, parent, or teacher with a safeguarding concern related to use of this platform, please contact us via the Contact page as soon as possible. For an immediate safety concern, please also contact your school's designated safeguarding lead or, in an emergency, the emergency services.
For schools
Schools remain responsible for their own safeguarding policy and for appropriate supervision of students using the platform, in line with statutory guidance such as Keeping Children Safe in Education. This platform is a tool to support teaching, not a replacement for a school's safeguarding procedures.
