Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 18 August 2026

Our commitment

IT SkillForge aims to meet WCAG 2.2 AA where practical, so the platform is usable by as many students and teachers as possible, including those using assistive technology.

What we've done

  • Semantic HTML landmarks and heading structure throughout.
  • Keyboard-navigable interface, with visible focus states.
  • Colour is never the only way status is communicated (icons and text labels accompany colour-coded badges).
  • Respect for the "reduce motion" system preference.
  • Alt text guidance built into the Coding Lab's "Check My Page" tool to help students build accessible pages themselves.

Known limitations

  • The Monaco code editor (used in the Coding Lab) has its own accessibility characteristics inherited from the upstream project; full screen-reader code-editing support is limited, as with most browser-based code editors.
  • Automated checks (like our "Check My Page" tool) are a learning aid, not a substitute for a full accessibility audit.

Feedback

If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please let us know via the Contact page so we can investigate.
